worship one80

For those of you "New Songers" who have often wondered where our worship band received the name, "one80" - here's the answer... (drumroll please)..

I don't know. :)

However, what I can tell you is over the past year and a half as I have had the priviledge of leading you all in worship, there are a couple of worship "words" that come to mind to explain the name. Over the next few weeks, I want to take a look with you at "one80" through a series of words and Bible verses that I belive God's using to speak to us.

The first one is... transformation. "one80" to me means to turn completely around, to be transformed. Check out Romans 12:1-2...

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Deep down, we're all desiring some sort of transformation. Whether we want out of our current job, to deny an addiction, or change at home, we desire transformation. Through lives lived in worship to Jesus, we are transformed, as Paul says, through the renewing of our minds. You see, when we are thinking the right things, everything else will gain its' proper perspective. This is worship unto the Lord, and what He desires from all of us... to be transformed - to turn a one80.
